Search Options By default, VirtualDJ will search within the Artist, Title and filepath fields of the database, but more or different fields can be selected from Search Options to narrow or provide different search results. VirtualDJ will provide the tracks of the selected (focused) folder on the top followed by the tracks from other folders and those will be separated by an empty line. Search results are constantly updated as you type characters in the Search field. Simply type in the Search field, part of the Artist and/or part of the Title of the file you are searching for (separated by a space character), and VirtualDJ will provide all the tracks that match your input. It will only update the Search Database of VirtualDJ From that point, the Search field will be used to provide results based on your search input. Adding or Removing files from Search Database will not copy, move or delete any files. VirtualDJ will then remove the tracks of that folder (and its sub-folders) from the Search Database. If you don’t wish to have a specific folder or a sub-folder included in your Search Database, simply right-click on any folder and choose Batch Remove from Search DB. Adding files to the Search Database will not analyze tracks (scan for BPM etc). Repeat this procedure for all your Drives or folders that contain your media files. VirtualDJ will automatically search within the selected folder and its sub-folders and will add its tracks to the Search Database. Expand any Root Element in the Folders list and right-click to any Folder (sub-folder) or Hard Drive in the Folder List. If the media files are spread across multiple folders or drives, you will need to add your media library to the search database of VirtualDJ in order for Search to provide proper results. VirtualDJ will automatically add files to the Search Database whenever a folder is focused on (opened in the Folder List) for the first time and keep the results in the database. This is used to search and find files within your media library without browsing within the folders. If you need more help you MUST answer with every possible detail all the questions I've asked you on my previous post.Interface - Database SEARCH DATABASE The Browser area offers a Search input box on the top. Done! PS: I can't help you more than that. Hit Check-Clean-Fix buttons one at the time and allow them some time to complete their task 13. If your LE version allows you to do so open Config, go to the Browser tab and select the "D" drive from the drop down menu. When the replace completes save the file. For notepad it might take some time to complete the task especially if your database is big enough. Press the Replace button and let notepad to do it's work. On the "Replace" field type the directory your music is located now (According to our assumptions D:\Music \) Please notice that we used the forward slash on the end of the string. On the "Search" field type the directory your music collection was before the reconstruction (According to our assumptions C:\Users\YourUserName\Music \) Please notice that we used the forward slash on the end of the string. Press "CTRL+H" on your keyboard to bring up the "Search and Replace" window 6. Open the file with Notepad (or even better with a more advanced text editor like Notepad++ (free)) 5. Rename the file to " VirtualDJ Local Database V6.XML" 4. Copy the " VirtualDJ Database V6.XML" file you have kept backup on the root of the D:\ drive 3. Go to the D:\ drive and delete the file "VirtualDJ Local Database V6.XML" from the root of the drive 2. We'll also assume that besides moving your music collection to the new location you DIDN'T made any other changes on the directory structure. Let's assume it's now on the D:\Music folder. Notice that I said that the file you should have kept does NOT have the word "LOCAL" on it's filename! B) System after reconstruction Music is on the D:\ drive. If you don't then there's no point to move on. If you HAVE THIS file (not ANY other file) we can keep on. Let's assume it was on C:\Users\YourUserName\Music folder The file you should keep backup was " VirtualDJ Database V6.XML" and it was located inside C:\Users\YourUserName\Documents\VirtualDJ folder. You don't want to make things easier for us to help you, do you ? :P I would rather prefer answering me with 1,2,3,4,5 like I've asked you (I had my reasons) but anyway, here we go: A) System before reconstruction Music was on the C:\ drive.
